10th Anniversary Bash – 2nd, 3rd, 4th July 2010
Glorious music, glorious weather, glorious crowd. What more could Gazastock have wished for on its tenth birthday?
A million thank you’s to all the security, bar, gate, tea tent, car park, backstage and countless other unsung heroes who gave their time so that others could enjoy frolicking to raise funds for Hospice in the Weald.
Somewhat appropriately our tenth birthday also saw a record number of acts performing. A grand total of 34 bands, duos and solo performers, plus numerous guest and jam appearances, made for a densely-packed programme of sparkling, energetic, engaging music throughout the weekend, ranging from bands who played the first party back in 2001 through to others whose members were still in short trousers in 2001.
And a warm welcome to everyone who came along for the day on Sunday. Conscious of the huge demand for Gazastock tickets and our inability to increase overall numbers any further, we hope that our Lazy Sunday meant that everyone could have the chance to join the party. It was certainly a cracking line-up and our Battle of the Bands winners did us and themselves proud in a powerful demonstration of what great talent lies hereabouts.
The Elves are still in the counting dell and we hope shortly to be able to announce by how much this year’s party has boosted the £134,000 grand total raised for Hospice in the Weald to date. At this juncture it’s also apposite to thank our hosts, Gaza Timber, for providing such a wonderful setting for the party once again and for their massive investment in time and resources to help make the bash such a huge success. Long may it continue. Special thanks also go to The Santander Foundation, Barefoot Wine, Molesmusic and Medix for their continued sponsorship and support.
We’ll be updating the website gallery very soon and if you’ve got any pictures of this year’s Gazastock that you’d like to share with us, send them to: supporters@gazastock.co.uk and we’ll post them on the website.
One Luv
